“I think that it would be an excellent idea to have a stand by generator at the community hall as there are a lot of people in the glen that I know who are totally dependent on electricity for everything” email 5/1/12
“We have recently read about thousands of people that have been without power in the south of Scotland for days. Considering that they don’t have the hills and amount of trees to contend with that we have, I think that it would be very wise of us to be prepared.” telephone call 6/1/12
“I agree in principle, but I have concerns about the generator’s security. If they can steal the generator from the mountain rescue base up the Nevis Glen and carry it away, what chance would our’s have if they can drive a van up to it.” email 5/1/12
“We have been trying to vote for the hall generator but can't :(
Maybe something up
with our computer but it keeps going onto outlook..?!
Just to say we have three votes
to add, don't know if u can add them without the emails?!
Myself and mum and who
isn't online... YET!!! Haha
Hope ur able to add these and I can ask around, see if there's more folk who want
it who are not online too” email 6/1/12
“ Providing that it can be paid for from grants and community funding, as well as maintained by a qualified electrical engineer I am in full agreement with the proposal.” email 7/1/12
It’s a Good idea as I can’t cook anything when we don’t have any power.
I like the idea of being able to make comments about community matters and I shall email you again.” email 7/1/12
“We all have candles for light and are used to dealing with power cuts. I don’t think that it is a hardship to drink cold water and eat something out of the larder for a day or so.” email 7/1/12
“The public notice board page on the website is a good idea. It's early days at the
moment, but already a good "community based" suggestion has been put forward that
may help during the periods when we experience prolonged power cuts”. email 6/1/12
“I think that a standby generator is an excellent idea -
A standby generator would protect those that book and attend all functions at the hall including Panto’s, Weddings, Family Parties, Craft Fares, Bowls etc etc.it would be there to cover everyone.
How would it be if you were sat at the Burn’s Supper on Saturday Night and the Power went no light, no music, invited dignitaries..... it’s not just for the prolonged power cuts”. email 18/1/12
