AUGUSTUS IN JANUARY 2012

No 1                                           Submission 26/12/11

 Dear editor,
I have noticed that you are looking for suggestions for   community council agenda.

I would like to suggest that we purchase an emergency   standby generator for the hall - So that, in the event of   a major power failure, the hall could become the hub   of the community where people could gather there to   keep warm, have something warm to eat and drink as   well as communicate and be updated.

 Dear editor,

I would like to suggest that instead of holding a   Community benefit fund where people need to bid for   their “charitable activities” - that the pot of community   money be used to pay (call it hardship fund if it must be   titled) the electricity or heating bills of anyone over the   age of 60/65/70 (depending on the sums - age/available   funds) in the local post codes during every winter.                                                                                                                                            Anon
